How to choose the right sheet size for your bed?

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOUR MATTRESS

The first step in choosing a bed linen set is to check the dimensions of your mattress. The fitted sheet should be the perfect size, while the flat sheet and comforter cover should be slightly wider and extend beyond each side of the bed so that the flat sheet can be folded over the comforter. Follow these tips according to the size of your mattress.

IF YOUR MATTRESS MEASURES 90x190

If you have a 90x190 single bed, you'll need to choose a 140x200 comforter cover. Of course, for greater comfort, the dimensions of your cover should be identical to those of your comforter cover. This type of comforter is ideal for single beds ranging from 70-190 to 90-200. The average person usually buys a 180x290 cm flat sheet and a 90x190 cm fitted sheet.

IF YOUR MATTRESS MEASURES 140x190.

If your bed is 140x190 cm, the dimensions of your fitted sheet should be exactly the same, the height of the cover being equal to the thickness of the mattress + 5 cm. For your comforter cover, choose a 200x200 cm or 240x220 cm model to get the most out of it. Choose the former if you sleep alone, and the latter if you sleep with a partner. Don't hesitate to choose a larger size if you or your partner move around a lot while you sleep.

As for your flat sheet, the most important thing is that you can tuck it in sufficiently. You'll need a sheet measuring 180x290 cm.

IF YOUR MATTRESS MEASURES 160x200.

For a king-size bed (160x200 cm), the fitted sheet should be the same size. For the comforter cover, a size of 240x220 cm will give you an overhang of 40 cm on each side of the bed, and 50 cm if you opt for a 260x220 cm cover, which will allow you to be more comfortable. Finally, if you wish to add a flat sheet, it should measure 270x290 cm.

IF YOUR MATTRESS MEASURES 180x200.

For a king-size mattress (180x200 cm), you'll need to buy the largest comforter cover, i.e. 260x240 cm, and a fitted sheet measuring 180x200. And for the flat sheet, choose a 270x290 cm model.
