Khadi belongs to this family of exceptional Indian fabrics. The strong identity of this handmade work bears the mark of the person who patiently spun and wove the cotton fibre on a wheel, or 'charkha'. The subtle irregularities in the weave give it all its nobility. It is a soft, supple fabric that is also versatile, being cool in summer and warm in winter.
In India, khadi has sentimental value: Mahatma Gandhi set up this weaving as a true symbol, that of a craft to be defended.
