Ikat, thread and time

Our latest collection is dedicated to ikat, a complex weaving technique
weaving technique that patiently creates patterns from knotted threads that are then dyed by hand.

These slightly blurred lines are inherent to the technique. They tell the story of an ancestral know-how, perpetuated by certain families in the central Indian state of Telangana... With them, we imagined a limited series of woven pieces: cushions, table linens, but also abat jour or notebooks. All in praise of these simple, vibrant motifs.

Inspirer

Taking the time
That's what inspires us in this know-how: the gestures handed down from generation to generation and the time spent on each piece for a result that's always singular. It all begins with the warp thread: cotton or silk, first dyed here and there. These skilfully placed pigments form the pattern during weaving.

The soul of ikat is there, in the authenticity and movement of the colors. Contours are delicately blurred, while a geometric pattern emanates an undeniable softness. Circles, flowers or geometric ornaments differ slightly: these irregularities make the beauty of each piece.
